Vic Hergott is recently retired following a progressive and successful 33 year career in the public sector parks and recreation administration. He worked in a variety of senior positions in three municipalities; Brampton, Cambridge and Brantford, finishing as Director of Parks and Recreation in Brantford 1999-2008.
A graduate of the University of Guelph, Vic supports the principle of lifelong learning, and continues to develop and present various educational sessions at seminars and workshops both in Canada and the United States.
Vic has a long history of serving on a diverse number of non-profit boards, executives and committees, including a term as President of the Ontario Parks Association. He has been recognized for his innovation, tireless efforts and dedicated service on a number of occasions.
Vic is currently serving as the Treasurer with the Ontario Parks Association Foundation. The goal of this foundation is to raise funds to assist deserving students who wish to pursue their education in any element of parks related or environmental studies. Each year the Foundation awards up to $20,000 to eligible students. Below is a photo of Vic presenting a scholarship to Morgan Ruttle of Fanshawe College. Morgan is studying Landscape Design.
